Sector 4 (AQA) Aquatic Control Level Area (セクター4（AQA) 水位制御エリア)[1] is a theme from Metroid Fusion. It was composed by Minako Hamano and Akira Fujiwara.
Description[]
Sector 4 (AQA) Aquatic Control Level Area plays throughout the upper area of Sector 4 (AQA) of the Biologic Space Laboratories research station, where Samus Aran operates the Pump Control Unit and battles Serris. It continues to play in this area until the endgame, where it is replaced by either Sector 3 Restore the Cooling Installation Timer Mission or Last Instructions depending upon the player's current progress.
Sector 4 (AQA) Aquatic Control Level Area is a very suspenseful track, especially when compared to the serene Sector 4 (AQA) Underwater Area theme heard in the depths of Sector 4. Much of the melody is in the lower register, repeating similar riffs in different keys. Near the end of the song, the melody is taken over by strings that alternate between long notes and syncopated rhythms. A bass line and quiet drum kit give the song a somewhat catchy vibe, preventing it from growing too dark or ominous while still remaining tense.
Sector 4 (AQA) Aquatic Control Level Area is also included as the final part of the Metroid Fusion Arranged Version medley heard on the Metroid Prime & Fusion Original Soundtracks. This version is performed largely by strings and the occasional heavy drumbeat. As a result of replacing the catchy bass and drum kit with tense and dissonant chords, this arrangement is much darker and even more suspenseful.
