Sector 6 (NOC) Dark Area (セクター6（NOC）暗闇エリア)[1] is the theme of Sector 6 (NOC) in Metroid Fusion.
This theme uses slow strings to build a dark and suspenseful atmosphere, with a "stealth" touch provided by tribal-sounding percussion. This owes to the fact that, on Samus's first visit to this sector, she is required to avoid the Blue X, which can exploit her new vulnerability to cold until she can obtain the Varia Suit. In the song's second half, its melody consists of dissonant descending chords while the low bass line builds, in a manner reminiscent of Mother Brain.
