A Shield Gate is an obstacle in Metroid Prime: Federation Force. It is an octagonal plate that floats in place in front of areas, usually small alcoves with crates or MOD containers, with energy beams protruding from all of its sides. They appear exclusively within facilities on Talvania, such as the Missile Key chamber in the power station during M03: Smokestack, or the Abandoned factory site during M13: Phantom. and can only be removed by firing a Shock Shot at it. This makes it similar to walls of ice/hard magma encountered on Excelcion and Bion, which can only be removed using the Freeze or Flame Shot.
