The Shirk is a unique robotic enemy, with only a single specimen found in Phase 4.

Description

The Shirk seems to be a security bot, presumably designed by the Chozo, but has since gone rogue. This robotic enemy uses its sharp nails as crushing melee weapons, ramming into Samus Aran if she approaches it. It slowly hovers through the air, and is very similar in design to the Gunzoo mechanisms. It patrols the room where a pair of Automs are at work.

Trivia

The Shirk has the same artificial intelligence as Alpha Metroids.
The Shirk does not appear in Metroid: Samus Returns, the remake of Metroid II.
