Shore Tunnel

The Shore Tunnel is a room in the Magmoor Caverns on Tallon IV. It appears in Metroid Prime. Like its name suggests, it is a tunnel, with the middle section providing access over a large lava pit, while the ends are composed of rock. The sides of the middle section are composed of Bendezium, which can be destroyed using a Power Bomb. The lava pit below contains a small platform below the tunnel, atop which sits the optional Ice Spreader.

Ice Spreader: Using a Power Bomb in the tunnel in this room destroys its walls, revealing the power-up in the area below, on a platform in the lava pool.

Trivia[]

The room's internal name is 00e_lava_connect.
It is possible this room may have been partially inspired by the Glass Tube room from Super Metroid, as both rooms involve Samus inside a transparent tunnel that can be shattered with a Power Bomb. Another such tunnel would later be seen in the Space Pirate Mother Ship from Metroid: Zero Mission.
