This scorpion-like creature attacks by cutting tunnels out of the rock to strike with its disk saws. It attacks and then retreats to hide in its tunnel. Like Rock Icicles, Skorps are only found in purple liquid tunnels between explorable areas.
Metroid II Manual
"They come out from their holes to attack with their disk saws."
- The name "Skorp" is likely derived from the word "scorpion".
- Occasionally, the Missile ammo pickups dropped by Skorps will be upside down.
- It is unknown whether or not the Skorp species became X Parasite hosts, as Samus does not encounter any Skorps in Metroid Fusion.
- Skorps do not appear in the remake of Return of Samus, Metroid: Samus Returns.
