The Skorp is a species on SR388, seen in Metroid II: Return of Samus.

Description[]

This scorpion-like creature attacks by cutting tunnels out of the rock to strike with its disk saws. It attacks and then retreats to hide in its tunnel. Like Rock Icicles, Skorps are only found in purple liquid tunnels between explorable areas.

Skorps have an uncommonly high drop rate for Missile ammunition, making them useful for replenishing Samus' stock before a Metroid battle.

Trivia[]

  • The name "Skorp" is likely derived from the word "scorpion".
  • Occasionally, the Missile ammo pickups dropped by Skorps will be upside down.
  • It is unknown whether or not the Skorp species became X Parasite hosts, as Samus does not encounter any Skorps in Metroid Fusion.
  • Skorps do not appear in the remake of Return of Samus, Metroid: Samus Returns.
