Very similar to other types of Puffer, the Sky Puffer feeds on noxious gases above SkyTown, and especially likes Phazon gas. As it is stated in its Logbook entry to be native to the planet Elysia, it is assumed to be one of the few biological lifeforms that call the planet home, despite its metallic appearance.[1]

Trivia
- In Metroid Prime Trilogy, Sky Puffers appear in room Botanica, replacing the "Dragoon" Battle Drones that were formerly there. They respawn constantly from what appear to be Air Holes.
- Sky Puffers also inhabit the Piston Hall chamber in the PAL version of Corruption, although they were removed in the Trilogy version.
