Space Pirate Deck Commanders are characters that served as the heads of each Deck on the Frigate Orpheon. They are only mentioned in scans on the Orpheon and not seen, although most of the scans are unused. A computer screen in Biohazard Containment mentions that any readings of Phazon radiation detected when removing biohazardous waste must be reported to the commander before the waste is disposed of.
An unused scan in the Emergency Evacuation Area is of the Deck Commander itself, potentially its corpse. The scan mentions that it was carrying an access code with an unknown use. Scans in Connection Elevator to Deck Beta and Cargo Freight Lift to Deck Gamma mention that an access code is required to access Decks Beta and Gamma. This may indicate that at one point, Samus Aran would have been required to obtain an access code from a Deck Commander, either dead or alive, to access deeper areas of the Orpheon. Additionally, unused scans in the Exterior Docking Hangar indicate that Deck Commanders were responsible for inspections of unregistered spacecraft that docked aboard the Orpheon, and sightings of Galactic Federation probes or spacecraft were to be reported to them at once.
Whether these Commanders were killed by the outbreak of specimens aboard the Orpheon, during the ship's destruction or crash onto Tallon IV, or if they represent any of the wounded Space Pirates encountered by Samus Aran, is unknown.
