Space Pirate starship

The Space Pirate starship (called the Space Pirate frigate in Captain A.C. Exeter's report and the Space Pirate vessel in a scan) is an unspecified Space Pirate frigate that has been dispatched by High Command to provide reinforcements and replacement machinery to the existing Pirate base on the planet Aether. However, eight days before the events of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the frigate is engaged by the Galactic Federation ship G.F.S. Tyr, an Anhur-class Patrol Ship conducting a routine scouting mission in the Dasha region. The Pirate frigate sustains heavy damage from the Tyr and crash-lands near the Pirates' base in the Agon Wastes, and the survivors make their home inside the Pirate complex. The frigate contained a replacement generator for the base’s damaged stealth field generator, but it is destroyed in the crash. Without the ship's replacement generator to protect them, the Pirates fear they willbe exposed to the scanning systems of the pursuing Tyr's crew, the GFMC Task Force Herakles, which follows the Pirates and also makes planetfall.

Samus Aran discovers the still-burning wreckage of the frigate at the entrance to the Pirates' Agon base, which the Pirates seem to be using as a makeshift wall to protect their complex. Interestingly, it is only scannable in Wii versions of Echoes.

The overall design of the frigate resembled that of the Space Pirate Mother Ship.
