Staff Credit is the ending credits theme of Metroid II: Return of Samus and Metroid: Samus Returns. Originally composed by Ryoji Yoshitomi, it continues the practice implemented by Hirokazu Tanaka in the original Metroid of composing brooding and creepy music, with the ending theme bringing a level of catharsis to the player. In Return of Samus, the theme builds up as Samus is seen running alongside the credits, and finishes when she either continues running, or jumps off-screen, then lands again in her Varia Suit or bikini, depending on the ending.

In Samus Returns, the theme was remixed by Daisuke Matsuoka into an orchestrated version with a chorus. It is slightly longer and alters the finish, featuring a piano arrangement of the game's Title theme; a combination of Theme of Samus Aran, Space Warrior and the series's main theme; and a brief arrangement of the classic Surface theme at the end. This portion of the Staff Credit theme was used in a short video tweeted by Nintendo España after the 2017 Game Awards, featuring Yoshio Sakamoto and Jose Luis Márquez.
