The Stinglarva is Kanden's Alt-Form, created during the Enoema Living Weapons project. It imbues him with genetic material from the most dangerous insects in the galaxy. While in Stinglarva form, Kanden takes the appearance of a large, segmented worm-like creature that usually moves in an undulatory fashion.
The Stinglarva can lay Larva Bombs, which detach its regenerating tail and track a nearby enemy, exploding near them to cause damage. If the tail explodes near Kanden it will cause him to jump, much like the Bomb Jump technique of Samus Aran's Morph Ball. This jump is slightly higher, however. Because Kanden is much smaller in Stinglarva form, he can use it to maneuver through tight passageways to retreat from enemies or to reach new areas, much like any other Alt-Form in Hunters, which he demonstrates during Samus' first encounter with him in Data Shrine 02.

Stinglarva
Bioengineered with genetic material from the galaxy's most dangerous predatory insects, KANDEN can transform into the STINGLARVA. This fast-moving segmented insect has a detachable regenerating tail that homes in on its target before exploding.[1]
Metroid Prime Hunters: The Official Nintendo Player's Guide[]
- STINGLARVA
- "Kanden was given a massive dose of DNA from predatory insects. This has bestowed him with the ability to transform into a Stinglarva, one of the galaxy's quickest and deadliest arthropods. Its segmented tail lashes out at its target and explodes on contact; the Stinglarva's tail then regenerates, but its target is rarely so lucky."
