Storage units are indestructible crates found on the Pirate Homeworld in only two rooms, the Proving Grounds Lift and Phazon Quarry, and in the Temple of Bryyo. Their indestructibility comes from unknown alloys in its plating. They appear as black jar-shaped boxes with an orange lining surrounding their caps. What they contain is unknown, as Samus is unable to destroy them like other crates and containers in the Metroid Prime series. The units in the Temple of Bryyo are much larger, but beyond their scan, these storage units appear to serve no gameplay purpose.
