"Storehouse access" is a room in Sector 2 / Cryosphere. It appears in Metroid: Other M.

Description[]

This is the first room of the indoor warehouse in the Cryosphere, and it is accessed from the Experiment Floor. It contains a large observation window allowing anyone who passes through the hall to see the environment outside. The room's architecture is simple given that it was constructed by and for humans. The floor is segmented, with octagon-shaped divots in the floor that are covered by a transparent material. It would seem that some of the outdoor environment has crept into the room, as parts of the floor are covered in frost, icicles have formed on a bar on the wall, and an ice hump is present near the exit. This can be vaulted or jumped over.

Metroid: Other M Premiere Edition refers to this room as a "long, winding hall" on page 96.

Role[]

Samus finds Maurice Favreau's body in the Experiment Floor. As she is standing over it, the camera pans to a young woman in the window. Samus spots her, and the woman flees into the facility. Samus follows her into the Materials Storehouse through this room. The camera is positioned from outside the room while Samus is running through it until she turns around a corner, when it focuses on the room itself. In the Storehouse, the woman reveals that she saw another soldier kill Maurice; a flashback shows her witnessing the murder, again from this room.

Following her initial visit, Samus has no purpose for returning to this room until after the credits, when she can come back to obtain a Missile Tank (see below).
