Super Missile Ammo is an item in the Metroid series that replenishes Samus's Super Missile reserves. They appear in Super Metroid, Metroid: Zero Mission and Metroid: Samus Returns, where the Super Missile is a separate weapon from the regular Missiles, rather than an upgrade to the Missile or a Charge Combo. Super Missile Ammo is identical to a Super Missile pickup and requires Samus to touch it in order for her to collect it (in Samus Returns, it will automatically be drawn to her). Super Missile Ammo is dropped by defeated enemies in the aforementioned games, but it is less common than regular Missile Ammo. In Super Metroid, Super Missile Ammo only restores one round of ammunition, and in Metroid: Zero Mission, it restores two.[citation needed]
