The Takumaku[1] is a species in Metroid Dread.
Description[]
The Takumaku resembles the Klaida and Armadigger in both its general body type and behavior; however, it can be distinguished by the thick layer of glossy, black armor covering its back and forelimbs. It attacks by charging at Samus Aran and trying to ram into her, although this can be Melee Countered.
After the X Parasites are released from Elun, X-infected Takumakus can be found in Ferenia and Hanubia, as well as in Artaria when it is frozen over by Experiment No. Z-57.
A Takumaku is among the specimens kept in stasis by the Mawkin in a Hanubia shaft. Its capsule has fallen over, and the creature awakens as Samus passes by. It breaks free and charges at Samus, who automatically Melee Counters it. Struggling to control her newfound Metroid powers, Samus hesitates long enough for the stunned Takumaku to recover and charge again, but she finishes it off with her Wave Beam. Raven Beak watches these events unfold with satisfaction.
Trivia[]
- Although no Takumakus can be encountered before the X Parasites are released from Elun, the Takumaku specimen in Hanubia is killed by Samus without any indication that it reverts back to an X, and therefore appears to be uninfected. This indicates that the Takumaku species was not fabricated or altered by the X, unlike the Goliath or Iceflea.
