Teleport Stations are a type of station introduced in Metroid: Samus Returns, implicitly built by the Chozo on SR388 and ZDR.
Details[]
Metroid: Samus Returns[]
Teleport Stations transport Samus to any other that she has already found, allowing her to quickly transport herself between the areas of SR388, as at least one is present in all of these areas.
Rooms containing Teleport Stations include the second tower corridor, the lower water-filled room, Grand Cavern, Chozo Tower and "Metroid Nest Access".
After the Queen Metroid is defeated, the baby will accompany Samus if she uses a Teleport Station to travel elsewhere on SR388.
Metroid II: Return of Samus did not have such a feature, meaning that extensive backtracking would be required in order to return to past areas, and it was impossible to do so after the Queen Metroid battle.
Metroid Dread[]
Teleport Stations, now known as Teleportals, make a return in Metroid Dread. This time, Teleportals are color-coded and Samus can initially only warp to a Teleportal with the matching color. The only areas that lack Teleportals are Elun, Hanubia, and Itorash. Once she has reached Itorash, the Teleportals can transport Samus to any other she has discovered, including ones she has not yet used.
Chozo characters appear around Samus when she activates a Teleportal, spelling "arocum"; the meaning of this word is unknown. When she exits a Teleportal, single letters appear.[1] The colors correspond to a letter - red = A, purple = E, yellow = I, green = O, blue = U, cyan = X and orange = Y.[2] As seen by sequence breaking, the yellow Teleportal in Artaria's E.M.M.I. Zone ceases to function when ZDR is frozen over by Experiment No. Z-57, but it resumes function after the planet's temperature returns to normal.
Teleportals are very similar in function to the Portals in the Alimbic Cluster and Warp Sites in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, although unlike the Teleportals, the Portals and Warp Sites never cease to work solely in pairs. Some Portals in the Incubation Vault rooms of the Celestial Archives are exceptions to this however as they all transport Samus directly to the same spot of the Docking Bay.

- TELEPORT STATIONS
- "The Chozo were geniuses when it came to developing technology. Teleport Stations, for example, allow a user to teleport from one station on one corner of the planet to another station on the other side in the blink of an eye. How it all works will likely remain a mystery for all time, but what matters here is that your Power Suit can interface with the machines and utilize them."
- WALKTHROUGH - AREA 1 (p. 47)
- TELEPORT STATIONS
- "Teleport Stations allow you to zoom all over the planet in an instant, provided you've found Teleport Stations in the area you want to teleport to. You'll put them to plenty of use later, so make a point to unlock them--simply by approaching them--while exploring each area."

Development notes[]
There are unused textures for a pink Teleportal icon in Dread, with the Chozo letter "Z". The textures correspond to its icon on the local and global Maps, and the object itself. The symbol is oriented correctly on the map texture, but appears horizontally mirrored on the object texture.[3]
