The "Teleportal shaft" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread.

Description[]

A long shaft located in the lower left region of Ferenia, this room features the area's sole Teleportal, which is colored blue. It can only be accessed from the outside, via a side tunnel on the top left floor. This is obstructed by Bomb Blocks.

In the background, what appears to be a central throne is present at the top of a short staircase that leads down to a forward-facing ledge. To either side of this are a pair of Mawkin shields with spears behind them in an X formation. Under the ledge, there is a large statue of the upper half of an armored Chozo, its hands around the hilt of a large sword. Banners adorned with the Mawkin symbol exist throughout the shaft, blowing in the light breeze from several open windows. The room's architecture is heavily supported by buttresses.

The statue rests on a ledge itself, and under this ledge is an elongated platform above a final platform structure. The platform extends into the background with a central red carpet, ending at a mural of a kneeling Chozo with an object in its hands and three worshippers on either side. Given the presence of a curved staircase on either side of this walkway, and two additional upright Chozo statues, it is possible that this room served as a museum of sorts for the native Mawkin. More Chozo statuary, shields and spears are present at the base of the structure and in a short hallway leading right, into the E.M.M.I. Zone.

Inhabitants[]

If the Quetzoa is killed and its X absorbed before the arriving X can mutate it, the latter X will flee. When one of the Yamplot-X is killed, its X moves downward in the room and turns into a Takumaku.
