The Shape of Happiness is a recently rediscovered six page Metroid manga story featured in the 1989 collection Famitsu Comix.[1] The story features Samus Aran as she appears in the original Metroid, and seems takes place before that game, when Samus is receiving her mission orders. Little is currently known about the story, which was never released in English. Characters include an armadillo-like pet of Samus's called Mari Yoshimura, a Police-Man and a green humanoid alien. The Metroid Database, a Metroid fansite with a history of translating Japanese Metroid manga, has plans to release a scanned and translated version.[2]
