Nemesis Ridley,[1] also titled Theme of Ridley,[2] is an orchestral arrangement of Ridley's signature battle music, used for the battle against his clone in Metroid: Other M. It was arranged by Kuniaki Haishima and orchestrated by Sachiko Miyano, and is one of the few classic series themes in the game.

It was first heard in the Action Story trailer for the game released on July 27, 2010. In addition to the aforementioned Ridley battle, the theme is heard when Samus activates the Gravity Feature and escapes from the detaching Sector Zero, and during the later escape sequence from the BOTTLE SHIP after its Self-Destruct System is set off. The latter instance features a blaring alarm over the theme to add to the tension, much like the similar Escape rendition of Vs. Ridley from Super Metroid.

Nemesis Ridley is a highly aggressive piece, using varied percussive instruments and a powerful orchestral melody to great effect. A single loop of Nemesis Ridley consists of three refrains of the original theme. The second refrain is more dramatic and suspenseful, with a new unique passage of melody replacing part of the original melody. The third and final refrain keeps the original melody but is much more climatic than the first refrain, with more orchestral instruments playing at a higher register.

Nemesis Ridley appears on the Geothermal Power Plant stage in Dead or Alive: Dimensions, and in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on the Pyrosphere stage (also based on the Geothermal Power Plant). In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, it can be played on any stage based on the Metroid series. Nemesis Ridley is also included on the Samus Archives Sound Selection CD.

The theme can be heard here.
