The first Thermal Door in Artaria.
Thermal Doors are a special type of door in Metroid Dread. Unlike conventional doors, these are not opened by shooting at them. Instead, Samus must use machines to redirect the flow of ZDR's thermal energy, which will open or close these doors and provide new routes for Samus to take. They are brown in color and have meters on their sides indicating whether they are powered up or not.
They appear in Artaria and Cataris, where much of the planet's thermal energy is concentrated. The map marks which doors are opened and closed. Additionally, these two regions also contain Thermal Trapdoors, which are similar, but only lead to different sections of rooms instead of to completely new rooms.
