The "throne room elevator" is a room on Itorash. It appears in Metroid Dread.
Description[]
This room is the penultimate chamber in Itorash. It features a lift near the top, that goes up to the "Mawkin throne room", where Raven Beak dwells. A large structure exists in the center of the room, with an upper platform that stretches into the foreground with a rounded edge. Encircling the background wall are four buttresses illuminated with turquoise lights. The structure is supported by two curved girders on either side.
Dividing the room in half is a capsule with glowing orange energy. While it resembles Zebetite, it does not shrink when attacked and it cannot be damaged with Missiles or Charge Beam shots. The only way it can be destroyed is with a Power Bomb; when obliterated, the capsule breaks, causing debris to scatter around the base of the structure. It also yields significant amounts of Missile and Power Bomb Ammo, although it is likely unnecessary since the entrance to Itorash has a Total Recharge Station. Part of the structure is bent and disfigured as a result of the explosion, with the damaged ends glowing orange, although they cool quickly.[1] Destroying the barrier also obliterates Power Bomb Blocks on the upper right of the structure, opening a path up to the top of it, and exposes a floor of Pit Blocks on its left side.
As with all other elevators on ZDR, Samus can use it by standing on a pressure pad. She will then be presented with an option to use the elevator; if she does, she will run up a short set of steps into a shaft with a floating lift platform. It then takes Samus up a long shaft; she looks upward as she ascends. Notably, the elevator shaft rather resembles those found in Super Metroid, such as the one connected to the "Green Brinstar Main Shaft". Chozo characters reading "ORO" are etched into the wall on either side of the elevator, possibly representing the Chozo word for "up".[2]
Should Samus die during her fight with Raven Beak, a checkpoint will place her back in the throne room elevator, next to the lift.
