Torvus Bog[1] is a theme from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. It was composed by Kenji Yamamoto.
Description[]
Torvus Bog is the theme for the area of the same name found on Aether; it only plays in the upper area, while Torvus Catacombs plays in the lower levels. The theme is called Swamp World in the internal files, sharing the area's internal name and name in concept art. It is playable in the multiplayer mode of the game after Samus Aran returns the Light of Aether to the Torvus Temple and reports this news to U-Mos.
Torvus Bog is a somber and mysterious-sounding track, making heavy use of synth whistles and ambience. Notes of it can be heard in its Dark Torvus Bog counterpart, Dark World Swamp. Its chords resemble those of Tallon Overworld Revisited in the original Metroid Prime; this is because these chords are made with the same synth patch.[2] While harder to hear, this synth patch was also used in other Dark Aether themes such as Swamp Chika Dark and Dark World Temple. Additionally, several other specific instruments [3][4] and sound effects[5] are used heavily in both tracks, giving them a similar overall sound to each other.
The theme can be heard here.
