A Transport Capsule (also known as a Capsule in the internal data[1]) is a transportation device built on ZDR by the Mawkin Chozo. They launch into the sky, transporting their passenger to airborne areas. One is used to reach Itorash, the final area of Metroid Dread.
Description[]
Only one capsule is seen on all of ZDR, specifically in Hanubia. It is the only way Samus Aran can reach Itorash, due to the craft remaining airborne high above the surface. It contains only one seat, indicating that it was meant for individual transportation to and from the surface of a planet.
The devices which launch and receive capsules bear a resemblance to Network Stations. Their spherical shape also hearkens back to previous Chozo engineering designs, such as the Morph Ball.
To use the capsule, Samus must stand on a pressure pad, much as she does when boarding an Elevator or Shuttle, or using a Network, Map or Save Station. Upon selecting the option to board the capsule, Samus will run up a small flight of stairs into the capsule and take a seat. It is launched into the air with electrical sparks. A loading cutscene plays showing Samus seated in the capsule, looking straight ahead. This follows another cutscene of the capsule launching into or out of Itorash, before landing at its destination.
