Transport to Chozo Ruins West is a room in the Tallon Overworld. It appears in Metroid Prime.
Description[]
This is the first of many elevators, entered shortly after landing on Tallon IV. The room is round and contains nothing more than the elevator in the center, which must first be activated by scanning an Interface Module before it can be used. The elevator leads upward to the (south)west portion of Chozo Ruins.

Glitch[]
In the initial release version of Prime, the game would occasionally crash when using the elevator in this room, so the Nintendo GameCube would have to be reset. Jack Mathews later took responsibility for the bug, admitting he could repeatedly reproduce it on a hard drive before the game shipped. The NOA Product Testing Department had also been able to reproduce it, but decided it was not worth fixing since the incidence rate on a disc version was so low. When Mathews played Prime on a disc for the first time and reached the elevator, the game crashed. Mathews identified the cause as an issue with file allocation, and fixed it for subsequent versions of Prime.[1]
