Block Notification[edit source]

See archive.

This could have a lot easier if you directed me towards the project page. Sort of taking a lot of space here. — A (tc) 17:21, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
If this is the only thing you have to say regarding this, I am frankly quite concerned. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 17:22, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
It's not hard to understand what you mean, but this is a bit overkill. — A (tc) 17:25, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
If putting a block in place means that there's less cleanup I have to do, then I will put a block in place. It also has the benefit of halting whatever automated bot you're using. And, frankly, your use of whatever bot you were using was wholly irresponsible and could have ended a lot worse than it did. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 17:43, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

I understand the block to stop the edits, but you could got the point across a lot faster by sending a message like that. Also, just so you know, I specifically configured to to change to little to make sure the replacements didn't break anything. Why I wanted to remove the File: prefix from the galleries is a bit questionable honestly. — A (tc) 17:47, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

Also I'm making a mini archive just for that message. Too much for me. — A (tc) 17:55, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

I think you're starting to overreact to this. — A (tc) 18:09, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

I hope you realize that you are exhibiting all the wrong behaviors and responses to this situation. Telling an admin that they're overreacting is, alas, not the way to get unblocked sooner or to be allowed to use AutoWikiBrowser again. I'm pretty sure if someone smashed in your car's window, and only said "You're overreacting" or explained why your reaction is wrong when you confronted them about it, you'd be a little upset too. My honest advice to you at ths point is to say you understand what I've said, nothing more, and go do someone not on Wikitroid for the rest of your block duration. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 18:15, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

I wish text had a "tone of voice" setting...

I believe you're overreacting because you made a check page just over something someone could have done, but (as far as I can see) didn't.

Sorry if I'm being hard to understand, but you have to take into account what I had in mind. I felt like removing the unnecessary file prefix to galleries, found out how to without destroying the images, then I did in exchange for that old image tag. I was making more edits then I wanted to because I was using advanced and could set them as minor and skip and insubstantial ones. Now could you speak more like a human (that can understand minor errors), because right now you're in a sort of "admin-robot" mode that I'm not a fan of. — A (tc) 18:25, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

Also, if someone knocked over your drink in car and you told them "you're never riding here again", how would do think he'd react? Please check the edit differences before accusing me of smashing windows. — A (tc) 18:30, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

I understand where you're coming from, but you have to understand that you didn't make a minor error, you made an extremely serious one. If you had made the mistake on a handful of pages, it'd be a slap on the wrist for a stupid mistake and nothing more. But the fact that your error propagated to easily hundreds of pages that I had to fire up a bot myself to fix means that your "minor" error is really quite very serious. Bot operation is not easy, and as with any computer program, doing things with them is hard. This is made even worse by the fact that automated editing tools make minor errors very serious by making them extremely rapidly and to many pages. It also doesn't take much for "replacing File: with Image:" to become "completely destroying overly-sensitive wikimarkup". I created the CheckPage because you are not the first person to turn minor errors into very serious ones using AutoWikiBrowser, and it is not much more effort on us admins' parts to begin monitoring AWB usage more closely.
I am sorry if I come across as an admin-robot, but it's what I prefer to just pulling rank and saying "I'm an admin, in this situation what I say goes, deal with it". I am doing my best to explain to you my reasoning in the situation, and as I mentioned earlier, I would be happy to rescind the block early once I feel you understand the gravity of the errors you made.
Also, in response to:
if someone knocked over your drink in car and you told them "you're never riding here again", how would do think he'd react?
I have done this before. "I told you to be careful with food in the car, so if you want me to take you places still, please clean it up or contribute to the cost of an interior wash." I have not yet had anyone tell me this is unfair. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 18:41, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

Applying a small mistake to a larger amount of pages doesn't make a bigger problem. If I made a spelling error to 10 pages it shouldn't be worse than making the same mistake on 50. At most all I've done is add a few characters to the source mode of more pages than I planned for. I think it'd be best to get another party in. Also, "I left on note in your room telling you to be careful, so now you can't ever ride in here unless you ask someone" is more accurate. I understand what you're trying to do but different eyes will show different views. Hopefully I'm not coming off too rude, I can't talk to you through a mic here. — A (tc) 18:46, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

To be clear, I personally am not debating whether or not the mistake you made is serious. I am pulling admin rank and telling you that it was, and I am asking you to understand why this is so. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 19:00, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
Then please tell me why replacing a few letters is in any way serious and we can go home. — A (tc) 19:04, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
As I believe I have mentioned, it's because you used an automated editing tool that made the replacement, which is itself an error, to a lot of pages and required me programming a bot to fix. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 19:11, September 22, 2014 (UTC)
Then it's just making a bunch of small errors that need a bot to fix. That doesn't make it serious. — A (tc) 19:13, September 22, 2014 (UTC)

Forking[edit source]

If you have familiarized yourself with Wikitroid's history, you might know that we have long had considerations of forking from Wikia, because we disagree with how they have been turning wikis into social media and don't want those features imposed on us. If we do move we will be moving to Lizard's servers. We already have the groundwork set but we need to have more users assisting. Can we count on your support? RoyboyX(complaints/records) 01:22, September 24, 2014 (UTC)

I'm interested. — A (tc) 01:23, September 24, 2014 (UTC)

Template:Directory[edit source]

Hello Anemicne. I noticed that you recently recreated a deleted template, Template:Directory, and are now adding it to articles.

Personally, I don't think this template is very useful - to me, it duplicates the functionality both of navboxes and categories. I am about to (probably will have by the time you read this) open a deletion discussion so others can provide input. Until then, though, I would ask you to refrain from adding it to any more articles (it won't be removed from any either until the discussion is concluded). You'll be able to find the deletion discussion here (if this link is still red, give me a few minutes to finish writing it up). Thanks, FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 06:12, October 13, 2014 (UTC)

It can be u:seful, it just needs some better demonstration. — A (tc) 16:13, October 13, 2014 (UTC)

HEY![edit source]

Why did you delete my edits?! They were VALID statements!

1RR Violation Notice[edit source]

Hello Anemicne. Please be advised that two of your reverts today, [1] and [2], violated Wikitroid's Only Revert Once (1RR) policy. Even though Shadow Amethyst's reverts of you were themselves in violation of the 1RR, reverting 1RR violations is itself a violation of the 1RR. In the future, please ask another user or preferably an admin to intervene for you; they can review the 1RR-violating edits and issue warnings as appropriate. Thanks, FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 04:06, October 15, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Template[edit source]

In response to your numerous talk page messages that have gone along the lines of "Just use a short message instead of a long one/template, it's easier...."

Please stop. We heard you the first time, and now it's getting annoying. We have our way of doing things; please let us do them. --FastLizard4{ADMIN} (TalkContribsLogs) 05:49, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Unknown Naming System[edit source]

An RfC is currently underway to scrap the Unknown Naming System. Please vote and give your say (preferably for removing the system). Thanks. RoyboyX(complaints/records) 21:06, November 19, 2014 (UTC)
