"Vs. Goyagma" is an unnamed theme from Metroid: Other M. It was composed by Kuniaki Haishima and orchestrated by Sachiko Miyano.

Description[]

This theme is first played during the boss battle against Goyagma in Sector 3 / Pyrosphere's Crater Interior. It is also used in the first battle against Nightmare in its room in Sector 2 / Cryosphere; however, it does not seem to take any inspiration from Nightmare's original battle theme in Metroid Fusion, and it is replaced with a different theme for the second battle against Nightmare.

Like many other battle themes in Other M, this theme is evocative of James Horner's score for Aliens. The theme opens with tumultuous strings creating a terrifying sense of disorientation. After the introduction, the theme consists largely of intense percussion rhythms, accompanied by other orchestral instruments such as ambient high-pitched strings and tense brass. Eventually, the brass instruments build up and crescendo to a climatic flourish.

The theme can be heard here: [1]
