"Water filtration" is a room in Ferenia. It appears in Metroid Dread.

Description[]

This is a large room in Ferenia's E.M.M.I. Zone. It is a partially-flooded corridor above the "fresco hall", to which it connects via a tunnel next to the pool of water. Said tunnel cannot be accessed until E.M.M.I.-06WB is destroyed, since an E.M.M.I. Valve blocks it and the robot itself uses it to enter this room. Being that it is directly above the hall, it is possible to see the tunnel with that room's Power Bomb Tank if Samus stands in the water. Two small grooves are present at either end of the submerged pool, which allow Samus to morph into them to avoid detection from the E.M.M.I.

As the name implies, water flows from multiple falls in the background of the room, being filtered by machines in the background. Despite the constant stream, the water level never rises. A large fan runs in the center background, and multiple long, thick cables connect from the fan into the walls and ceiling, with pipes extending into the background as well. These are likely part of the filtration system. In the playable foreground, there are two midair platforms with blue magnetic strips, and a longer strip on the ceiling to aid Samus in evading E.M.M.I.-06WB if they are in the room together.

Aside from the E.M.M.I., the room is inhabited by Autools, a swarm of Dizzeans in the water, and two Autectors. Each of them can get in Samus's way or draw the E.M.M.I.'s attention there. These enemies remain in "water filtration" when the E.M.M.I. is gone should Samus revisit it.
