The Weapons Trailer (メトロイド サムスリターンズ パワーアップ紹介映像 Power-up Introduction Video?) is a pre-release trailer for Metroid: Samus Returns, focusing on all of the items in the game. It was first uploaded to the Japanese Nintendo YouTube channel on August 29, 2017, and then in English on the UK Nintendo channel on September 8. It was never uploaded by the American channel. The Japanese version features a narrator, while the English version does not. Apart from this, as well as a slightly different introduction and the use of Japanese as opposed to English text, the trailers are otherwise identical.

The trailer begins with a glimpse of SR388, followed by Samus running from her Gunship on the Surface into the planet's caverns, and then platforming gameplay. This includes the cutscene where Samus encounters the first Metroid larva in Area 8. After this, a few clips of Samus fighting other kinds of Metroids are shown, as well as shots of her various abilities.

The trailer then begins to list them off, in the following order: Beams, Missiles, Morph Ball, Boots, Suits, and finally the Aeion abilities (although the Scan Pulse is not showcased). Notably, when Super Missiles are being shown off, the Energy Meter is displayed as having "00" energy with five empty Energy Tanks. This would be impossible in-game as it would lead to a Game Over.

The ending shot is also different between languages: the Japanese version ends with the game's logo, release date, pricing and other information, while the English version's ending features the release date, boxart and comparison of the game running on a New Nintendo 2DS XL and New Nintendo 3DS XL.

The Theme of Samus is heard during the first part of the trailer, followed by Record of Samus while the power-ups are being showcased, and finished with the title theme when the game's release information is shown at the end of the trailer.
