Wikitroid:Room policy

Individually, rooms potentially hold a significant portion of the total article count on Wikitroid, but a large amount of those rooms lack a specific name or enough content to not remain a stub. This policy consists of simple yet specific questions that must be asked or considered before creating an article for a room without an explicit proper name. All rooms are documented under region lists for each game, so even if a room does not qualify for an article its information will still be accessible.

A room's notability can be judged by whether it meets any of the criteria below:

1. Is the room a "landmark" of the area? A landmark may be a central hub or other such room designed to help ground Samus's location within a region (e.g., a Landing Site or Teleport Station). Depending on the region, there may be multiple, only one, or no landmark rooms at all.
2. Do events in the room further the narrative plot? This is often seen as a cutscene accompanied by dialogue, but either on its own qualifies. Note that repetitive rooms that consistently have narrative elements, such as Navigation Rooms, are given their own collective article for such.
3. Are there Hidden World or Sequence Breaking elements in the room? Rooms that were designed to specifically counter these elements may also be candidates.
4. Does a boss fight or other locked-door sequence/encounter occur in the room? Rooms that lack complexity in design or function for the fight, such as empty box rooms or a simple platform, do not qualify except for those that reward key items.
5. Has the room undergone major redesign between games or does it appear in other media? These should be deliberate design decisions and not just changes due to advancement of hardware.
6. Are gameplay elements introduced or taught to players in the room?

Before you create a room article, consider these questions. Aside from meeting one of the criteria in order to qualify for a page, the room must also answer a "Question 0". Question 0 is to ensure that rooms that match criteria aren't flooding Wikitroid with permanent stubs.

0. Does it possess/have the potential to possess, enough relevant information to be made into a credible article? Generally, the minimum will be considered 1 kB of readable prose (syntax-free main-body text that excludes templates, tables, lists, or footer sections). Additionally, if a room does not meet any of the other qualifiers but holds more than 1 kB of readable prose, it may be eligible for its own article.

Keep professional writing in mind when writing rooms for both the list and its article (if it has one). Complete but concise documentation with reader-friendly presentation is more important than trying to push for qualifying limits.
