Wrist Bayonets are weapons utilized by Elite Pirates, as mentioned in the Elite Research. While not explicitly identified ingame, the Elite Pirates utilize glowing, retractable blades that extend from their claws when slashing at Samus. Alternatively, it may simply refer to an unused weapon seen in Elite Pirate concept art, though this does not appear to be retractable.
The GFMC Task Force Herakles were also stated by SPC F. Triplette to use bayonets when low on ammo, although whether they were gun or arm attachments akin to real life bayonets or weapons like that of the Space Pirates is unknown: "The sarge says those "Splinters" remind him of some killer bug he saw on another planet once. All I know is the things are fast and take a lot to drop. Pretty soon we'll have to go to bayonets. Everyone's low on ammo...even Brode, and he's the stingiest grunt I know."
