Yamplot-X,[1] also known as Specimen X4A,[2] are hybrids of Yampas and Gooplots created by X Parasites.
Description[]
Overall, a Yamplot-X resembles a natural Yampa with the purple and red color scheme of a Gooplot. Its flesh has a slimy appearance, with a shinier sheen and a less solid form, which is also likely derived from the Gooplot. It also has more pronounced spikes on its knees and feet compared to a regular Yampa.
During Samus Aran's first visit to Elun, a Yamplot-X can be briefly glimpsed through a hole in a wall as it scurries over debris. After all the X are released from their quarantine in Elun, the Yampas in Ghavoran are infected by the X and turned into Yamplot-X; Samus can see this in action as soon as she returns to Ghavoran, with the first two Yampas immediately being assimilated by the X.
The Yamplot-X use the Gooplot's launching ability to overcome the Yampa's inability to move between platforms; now with much greater mobility, the Yamplot-X can leap across multiple levels to pursue Samus. Otherwise, it behaves much like a normal Yampa, attacking with its jaw and being susceptible to the Melee Counter while doing so.
In addition to the Yampa's natural habitat in Ghavoran, Yamplot-X can also be found in Ferenia and Hanubia.
