Yasuo Kanemaki (金巻康郎 Kanemaki Yasurō?) is a Japanese cinematographer and film director. Kanemaki worked for 21 Incorporation in the 1990s as a director, and they collaborated with Nintendo to produce live-action commercials for games such as Famicom Wars[1], Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light[2], and Super Metroid.

He directed the live-action commercial for Super Metroid in 1994. Nearly thirty years later, Kanemaki was interviewed by Shinesparkers in 2023.

Kanemaki has since left 21 Incorporation. He later directed the stage performances in Shoes, a 2006 Japanese horror film. In 2017, Kanemaki was a guest professor of Image and Media Studies at Tokyo Gakugei University.[3]
